The Giver - Author's Craft

The Giver is set in the narration style of third person. The tone is serious and goofy at the same time. The book uses lots of hyperboles. For example, Jonas says,"and back and back and back." Imagery is one of the main crafts that the author uses. The book seems very slow because the author describes every little thing that happens.
