The Giver - Protagonist

Jonas is the protagonist of the book, The Giver. He is a twelve year old boy who has never experienced fear or pain. He becomes the Receiver of Memories, an assigned role given to him by the Community. His world was perfect before the Ceremony of Twelve. This was when he became the Receiver. He grows to learn the everything is not perfect. Even though it seems that way, if you look closely, there is not pain but no true pleasure of life. Jonas is very brave, or at least tries to be. For example, The Giver experieced pain from a memory, so Jonas stepped up and took it from him. Jonas finds himself to discover the true pain and pleasure of life.
